What is expedition medicine and what it does involve ?
Expedition Medicine encompasses the physical and psychological care of expedition participants before, during and after a trip. This is often practised in remote environments where medical facilities are scarce, such as in mountains, jungles, deserts, or at sea. Through our courses, we endeavour to give you the necessary skillset to operate as a medic in these austere locations.

Being an expedition medic is more than just knowledge of first aid, we will teach you key skills in leadership, communication, human factors, and pre-departure planning. Our courses are open to all healthcare professionals interested in working as an expedition medic or in any wilderness environment. They comprise of one day pre-departure online learning, followed by face-to-face sessions whilst on location. We focus on leadership, team-working, and practical skills to build competence practicing expedition medicine outdoors.
